Intentional therapy. Genuine connection.

Therapy should feel like it fits—let's find out what works best for you, together.

A collaborative process

I got into therapy because I genuinely care about people and their stories. After navigating my own struggles and spending time in a previous career in civil engineering and earth sciences, I felt called to make a meaningful change–not just in my own life, but in the lives of others. I returned to school to pursue therapy so I could be part of the support and change our communities need.

I believe therapy is a collaborative and personal process. Each client brings their own unique experiences, and I believe the therapeutic relationship works best when it’s built on trust, openness, and a good fit. That’s why I offer free 15-minute phone consultations–so we can connect, and you can get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.

Core values of my practice

Authenticity

Is at the heart of how I show up as a therapist. I bring my full, genuine self into the room–warm, grounded, and human–so you feel safe to do the same. I believe real healing happens in honest connection, and I strive to create a space where you can feel truly seen and supported without pretense.

Collaboration

I view therapy as a collaborative process where we work together to understand your experiences and move toward your goal. You are the expert on your life, and I bring my clinical training to support and guide the journey. Together, we’ll create a space where your voice is valued and your input shapes the direction of our work.

Cultural Humility

I approach therapy with cultural humility, recognizing that each person’s identity and lived experiences are unique and valuable. I’m committed to listening, learning, and honoring your cultural background without assumption. My goal is to create a space where you feel respected, understood, and empowered to bring your full self into the room.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is a cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship and something I take very seriously. Everything you share In session is kept private, with a few rare legal exceptions which we will discuss upfront. I also use secure, HIPPA-compliant platforms to ensure your personal information is always protected.

Hello! I’m Dani Borer (they/them/theirs), a non-binary therapist originally from San Diego, California. My path to becoming a therapist has been anything but traditional. I’ve faced my own struggles and challenges in life. Through my experiences, I’ve come to deeply understand the value of perseverance and growth, and I’ve learned the profound impact of holding space for others. This journey has shaped my approach to therapy, where I combine analytical skills with an understanding of the need to be seen, valued, and heard.
